CALL FOR NOMINATIONS, Carlton N. Parker Award for Outstanding Service

In 1975, Tony Piperi, C.P.M. was the first of a now long line of outstanding purchasing professionals to receive the Special Award for Outstanding Service. This award then, as now, was developed, "as a symbol of recognition from the officers, directors and members of a grateful organization for dedicated service and outstanding contributions to the development and progress of the National Purchasing Institute and the Public Purchasing Profession".

In 2002, the SAFOS Award was renamed as the Carlton N. Parker Award for Outstanding Service, in honor of his many contributions to the advancement of NPI and the purchasing profession.

This award is the most prestigious award presented by the National Purchasing Institute and to date has been awarded to 36 distinguished members.

The criteria for receiving the award, as established by the Board of Directors, requires that the nominee must have outstanding contributions to the development and progress of NPI and the public purchasing profession. All NPI members are encouraged to submit the names of any individual that you feel is deserving of this prestigious award. Along with the name, please furnish background information which describes the contributions made to NPI and the public purchasing profession. All nominations should be in electronic format and received no later than July 11, 2008. Click here for the form.

Please send your nominations for the 2008 CNP Award to Jack R. McCown at jack.mccown@pur.hctx.net

ISM Announces Release of CPSM Study Guide Study Guide to help supply management professionals advance their career.

(Tempe, Ariz.) April 3, 2008 – Institute for Supply Management™ (ISM) has announced the release of the CPSM Study Guide, a critical component for professionals looking to advance their career by attaining ISM’s latest professional credential, the Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
