What better way to launch the official Call for Nominations for the Carlton N. Parker Award for Outstanding Service for 2007, than to do so by using the exact words that Carlton N. Parker used in 1995:
“SPECIAL AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT is the most prestigious award presented by the National Purchasing Institute and has been given to twenty-one individuals since its inception. The SAFOS (CNP) award was established on July 26, 1974 by the NPI Board of Directors at the annual meeting held at the Antlers Plaza Hotel in Colorado Springs, Co.
The criteria for receiving the award, as established by the Board of Directors, requires that the nominee must have made outstanding contributions to the development and progress of NPI and the public purchasing profession.
All NPI members are encouraged to submit the names of any individual that you feel is deserving of the prestigious award. Along with the nominee’s name, please furnish background information on the individual which illuminates the contributions he/she has made to the National Purchasing Institute and the public purchasing profession.”
In 2002, The SAFOS award was renamed the Carlton N. Parker Award for Outstanding Service to memorialize Carlton for his contributions to the advancement of NPI and the profession. Since its inception, 35 distinguished members have received the award. All nominations should be in electronic format and received no later than close-of-business, June 1, 2007. Please email your nominations for the 2007 CNP Award on the nomination form to:
